FDV Jason Thoe horiFRONTIER Digital Ventures, which operates online classified businesses in emerging markets, has announced the appointment of Jason Thoe (pic above) as director of Growth & Operations, Auto Verticals.

He joins from iCar Asia, a Catcha Group company. Catcha founder Patrick Grove is also a major investor in Frontier Digital Ventures.

In a statement, Frontier Digital Ventures said the appointment underpins the company’s expansion plans.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jason [Thoe] to the Frontier family,” said Frontier Digital Ventures founder and chief executive officer Shaun Di Gregorio.

“He is an established and trusted leader, with extensive experience operating successful digital businesses across emerging markets globally.

“There are a number of exciting developments underway, and his proven expertise and outstanding track record will be invaluable as we drive them forward,” he added.

At iCar Asia, Thoe held various roles across its seven brands in three markets. During his last position as country manager for Malaysia, he led the business to profitability in 2015 with an impressive year-on-year revenue growth of 66%, contributing towards 60% of the iCar Asia’s overall revenue, Frontier Digital Ventures said, without disclosing actual figures.

Prior to iCar Asia, he held a range of leadership roles at various digital, technology and consulting entities.
