Morocco-based auto site Moteur.ma has launched a home test-drive product for prospective buyers, which the company says will aid in closing sales and converting leads.

The service, called Test Drive, is an alternative to the traditional dealer test-drive. After scheduling an appointment, the vehicle is delivered to the buyer’s address. The service is free of charge and does not require test drivers to hold insurance or put down a deposit.

The product is available online at TestDrive.ma and via mobile app. Test drives are scheduled to begin after Morocco’s stay-at-home order is lifted.

Launched in 2015, Moteur.ma is now the leading auto vertical in Morocco. It originally ran on a b-to-c model, offering new vehicles direct from auto manufacturers. The company later introduced a c-to-c used car business. Currently, the site has more than 1 million users.

In March 2018, investor Frontier Digital Ventures (FDV) took a majority stake in the company, buying an additional 8% of its shares in a $300,000 U.S. deal. – AIMGroup
