What you'll be doing:

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will be part of the Group Finance team based in Kuala Lumpur.  This role is responsible for month end consolidation Group accounting, treasury activities and financial reporting, leading process improvements and best practices, providing technical accounting advice and analysis, managing Group Treasury reporting, preparing Group payroll, ensuring tax compliance within the Group while ensuring an efficient financial close for their designated countries.  Expert proficiency on technical IFRS accounting matters, a strong process improvement mindset and project management ability is a key part of this role to drive substantial change throughout the Group.

  • Prepare Consolidated Group month-end financial reports, including but not limited to trial balance, profit or loss and balance sheet fluctuation analysis, and reviewing of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Complete financial reporting consolidation activities of the Group
  • Prepare Group Treasury reporting packs and analyse for improvements
  • Develop Group tax processes and preparation of Group tax requirements
  • Develop, advise and implement accounting, tax policies and guidance
  • Lead, contribute and support finance process improvement projects
  • Support investor related reporting activities
  • Support M&A new and existing investment activities advising on technical accounting and tax matters
  • Assist in quarterly, half yearly and annual ASX filings
  • Prepare half yearly and annual statutory financial statements
  • Coordinate audit/tax planning with Group auditors and tax agents
  • Preparing and reviewing the monthly payroll file of the Group

What are we looking for

To be successful in this role, the following skills and qualities are expected:

  • Degree in accountancy or equivalent professional qualifications: ACCA, ICAEW or CPA
  • A minimum 7-8 years of relevant working experience in Auditing, Tax Financial Analysis and preparing full set of consolidated accounts. Big 4 audit background preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in preparing and reviewing Group tax requirements
  • Expert knowledge of IFRS, taxation rules and principles
  • Excellent proficiency in Excel skills
  • Excellent inter-personal and communication skills working with multiple levels of management.  Has the ability to develop strong internal relationships across the Group with all key stakeholders
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines with a logical, methodical approach to prioritising tasks and responsibilities
  • Possesses an analytical mindset, willing to find issues within numbers, and propose solutions
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
